about nandini hawley
Nandini Hawley grew up in Sri Lanka, spent over 20 years in Hong Kong, and now resides in the US. Her love of design and color inspired her to explore painting during her time in Hong Kong, where she discovered an innate passion and talent for the art form.
Her artistic journey began with watercolors under the guidance of Stephen Thomas, where she admired their fluidity and precision. She later transitioned to acrylics with mentorship from acclaimed artist Cindy Rhee, appreciating the medium’s versatility and dynamic nature. Over time, she has also explored pen and ink, pencil, pastels, and oil.
Drawing inspiration from her Asian heritage and experiences, Nandini’s works often reflect Asian themes, nuanced details, and vibrant colors. She has exhibited, donated, and sold her art at shows in both the United States and Hong Kong, and she continues to enjoy creating pieces for private commissions.
For Nandini, painting is a continually evolving and deeply gratifying journey—one that resonates within her and connects her to others.
